Is the issue social, political, cultural, religious, or economic?
The issue of children and subliminal messages in media is a social and cultural issue because society is the one who put all these norms to be in certain way and later on having society control the things that are okay and those who are not. Is also cultural because the way people think is influence by those traditions and beliefs that people have as they grow up. Watching these cartoons, buying all their products, the customers think is okay because society and culture agree and allow them to do it. Also because is something that is around the world and that make it powerful. It states, “America’s entertainment corporations succeeded brilliantly in cultivating popular expectations for entertainment – indeed, the sense of a right to be entertained, a right that belongs to the history of modernity, the rise of market economies, and individualism.” (828) what this is saying is that the powers that these corporations have are very influential that are like magnets to the people. Also it says “People tend to prefer domestically produced television to Hollywood goods, competitors in television, as in film and music, are pulled into America’s gravitational field”. Here the fact that in America the shows and companies are so huge and powerful that it goes around the world and brainwash all the people, others follow what in America create because they see it as something huge, magic and perfect world.
What are the multiple perspectives on the issue?

States “American popular culture is the closest approximation today to a global lingua franca, drawing the urban and young in particular into a common cultural zone where they share some dreams of freedom, wealth, comfort, innocence, and power – and perhaps most of all, youth as a state of mind.” This is proving that the way in which this issue is view reveal that the people look at it as a magic place and the children are the ones in which they belief more since they have no experience in life. Also says, that people only care about what is in this magic world. the perspective that other look at is this one in which with the time the children can start to act violent when they see all those scenes and in when they have to be more careful with the things that Disney put to the children. Their mind is like a sponge that takes every single thing and they do not know what is right and what is wrong.
